Kirkton House has an 'Internet Cafe' allowing guests to send and receive e-mails and view internet pages from the comfort of the lounge. Please see - internet access details - on faq page.
The 'Olde Worlde' public rooms at Kirkton House have the original stone walls and rustic fireplaces of the main farmstead building.
One of the stone fireplaces has an authentic 'swee' for hanging cooking pots.
Guest Lounge
The residents' lounge has an open fire to create a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings.
An LCD 'Freeview' multi-channel TV and a varied selection of books, magazines, games, infuriating puzzles, postcards and touring information are also available in the guest lounge.
There are also some souvenir gift shelves in the reception / lounge area. Further local information is provided in the brochure racks.
Postcards and Notelets to send home can also be purchased – postage stamps and air-mail stickers are usually available from the hosts at Kirkton House.
Book Swapping Library
Guests can take advantage of the paperback book swap library - exchanging a book that they've read for a paperback book that a previous guest has left.
A wide variety of titles, styles of novel and subjects are covered by the library, which also includes some hardbacks with local history and tourist information [the hardback books may be borrowed but must be returned before leaving].
Jewellery cabinets offer hand made silver designer jewellery [some embellished with other metals] made in the village by the hosts' daughter [Linda Macdonald].
